Project Overview
The 200 MW / 800 MWh Crawfish Creek Energy Storage facility will provide energy and capacity services to Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) grid, enhancing grid reliability. The project will abide by the most stringent design and cutting-edge safety standards to ensure the project maximizes benefits to TVA and Jackson County.
Construction of the Crawfish Creek Energy Storage facility is anticipated to start in 2028 and reach online completion in 2029. Once operational, the facility will help stabilize the electric grid, which can support growth in advanced manufacturing and industrial investment across the Valley. By storing lower-cost energy when there is a surplus and delivering it back to the grid when demand is high, Crawfish Creek will help put downward pressure on electricity costs for customers.
Situated along a major electricity transmission corridor, the site’s location minimizes environmental impacts. Crawfish Creek site location is optimal for new energy infrastructure as it sits immediately adjacent to an existing interconnection point, allowing the facility to connect to the power grid without the addition of long transmission lines.
